The Muslim Congress of Liberia (MCL) is a faith-based non-governmental organization founded to foster Islam through the establishment of mosques and educational facilities. Following the construction of our mosque in 1966 and the initiation of our 5,000-capacity central mosque project in 1971, the MCL established its flagship formal education institution, Muslim Congress High School, in 1980

After the school was destroyed during a 2003 religious conflict, the MCL faced significant space, intake, and resource challenges. However, with support from the Islamic Development Bank, the school was reconstructed in 2010. Today, guided by dedicated young Muslim leaders, we are executing a strategic plan to redeem our historical legacy and expand critical community services

Vision Statement: Leading the establishment and fostering of brotherly love amongst Muslims in Liberia irrespective of color, sex, nationality, and sect; improving religious education for future generations; and strengthening Liberian Muslims' relationships with the global Muslim community.
Mission Statement: Establish educational institutions and mosques throughout the Republic of Liberia, provide scholarships to deserving Muslim students, and strive for the welfare of all members.
